Greener Products for the Beauty Industry

Over the last year I’ve been working towards a greener company and production processes. And really pleased to have made Bad Star Studios and my photographic practices Carbon Neutral. Along that journey (which I’m still traveling) I’ve had interesting talks and interesting people.

So it was really nice when friend and established celebrity / commercial make up artist Anna Thompson got me involved with her new venture Beauty Reorganised .

Beauty Reorganised is a beauty reorganiser made for the beauty industry that is entirely made from recycled plastic and comes in three colour ways.

I worked closely with Anna to develop a concept that would work as a strong visual narrative and allow her brand to take ownership of the creative.

Within Bad Star Studios Anna built a mammoth pile of recycling that she had been collecting from friends. The construction was meticulously pieced together coordinating the colour and shape of all the plastic to form a volcano structor with a hole within the centre of the sculpture just bigger enough for our model to sit hidden within the mass of plastic.

We then photographed the hand rising out of the plastic with the product shining bright like a modern lady of the lake and excalibur moment.
